ABOUT US
Alia Souels-Parker’s relationship with design started at an early age. Her father was a photographer and graphic artist and her mother has always had a great sense of style. Her parents owned several successful antique stores and fabric stores. They instilled in her an appreciation for beautiful design and quality.
Alia’s love for design and fashion lead her to a 5 year modeling career in New York City. She left the modeling world to attend New York University. It was at NYU that she discovered a love for event planning. Alia received the Presidential Leadership award for programming from New York University.
Summers and weekends were spent working in the family antique business. For years she helped their clients envision the inventory in their own homes. Often being invited into their homes to design the entire space. In 2008, Alia and her husband bought the family’s business ( a 26 room Victorian mansion formally known as The Antique Castle) and converted the property into event space and renamed it The Castle. As Manager and Event Designer Alia created unique design stories for events ranging from 5 to 500 guests. The Castle hosted, corporate events, fundraisers, celebrations, family reunions, and wedding receptions. Over the years she was often asked to perform her event design and interior decorating services off site, which has lead to the launch of SpectacDECOR.
Alia Souels-Parker currently resides in Plainfield Nj with her husband of over 21 years and their three beautiful children.
